Mrs. R. W. Bounds DIES SUDDENLY AT PROSPER HOME (Alcie Dona Rogers)
Mrs. R. W. Bounds, 78, a native of Collin County and a resident of Prosper since 1919, died suddenly following a stroke of paralysis, Mrs. Bounds, who was stricken after noon after attending Sunday school and church services, passed away at 5,15 p. m. at her home in Prosper.
She was born September 6 1870, near Frisco, the daughter of the late Beverly and Elizabeth Ware Rogers, Alcie Dona Rogers was twice married, her first husband was W. M. Davidson passed away in 1903. She married Dr. R. W. Bounds in 1914. He died in 1929.
Mrs. Bounds a member of the Methodist Church, had recently been made a life member of the Womans Society of Christian Service, in which organization she had been active the past 62 years,
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lenora Mills of San Francisco Calif., and Mrs. W. B. Chapman of McKinney: five sons, E. M. Davidson of Sanger, J. W. Davidson of Prosper F. A. Davidson of Bates Ark., R. W. Davidson of Cove, Ark, and W. M. Davidson of Prosper one stepson Alan Bound of Oklahoma, two stepdaughters, Mrs. Eunice Strawn of Cleveland, Ohio, and Mrs. Marguerite Mitchell of Dawson, New Mexico, one brother, A. P. Rogers of Frisco; one sister, Mrs. G. W. Martin of Siloam Springs, Ark.; 19 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Last rites are to be conducted at 2 o’clock Tuesday afternoon at Prosper Methodist Church with interment following in Bethel Cemetery, near Frisco. The Rev. C. L. Bounds of Dallas and the Rev. T. M. Robertson, pastor of the Prosper Methodist Church, are to officiate. Pallbearers will be U. N. Clary, C. W. Harper, A. E. Robison, Cyril Reece, Edd Crockett and Nathaniel Dubberly, Harris Funeral home of this city is in charge of arrangements.
