Mrs Anna Munch died at the home of her son, John Stauffer on Wednesday from injuries from a fall. She was past 80 and of heavy weight. Fractured bone in her right hip and internal injuries. Funeral at Stauffer home east of town, burial at Delphos Cem.

Mr & Mrs Geo Billings who have been spending the summer in the North and the West are expected to arrive home from Colorado tomorrow evening.

Ed Holtz is taking a short vacation from Adams store and Monday left for Marquette to visit his parents.

The case of the City of Delphos vs Emma Corell was argued Wednesday. Mrs Corell was fined for having a wooden porch built to the rear of the Commercial Hotel.

The Brown Grand Theater at Concordia has been completed. Built by Col. N B Brown, it will be managed by his son, E V D Brown. Building and furnishing, exclusive of the site, exceeds $40,000. The building is 60 by 120 feet and 64 feet in height.

Frank Henderson has bought the John Penny property in the northwest part of town and Mr. Penny has rented the Frank Hurtig farm west of town.

Mrs A E Rolph, who has been on the sick list, is improving.

A baby boy was born to Mr & Mrs Leslie Somers on Wednesday, Sept 18th. (1910 census shows Leonard to Leslie and Daisy, Sheridan)

Delphos High School has 22 men out for the 1932 season, of these 11 are lettermen: Dale Sullivan, David Partridge, John Haley, Claude Chancy, Melvin Kline, Wellington White,  Delmar Rolph, Max Rolph, Paul Hughes and Thurman Aulton. Others are: Junior Payne, Everett Baldwin, Maynard Kline, Harvey Lamer, Corliss Paramore, Ronald Shea, Verne Eberly, Haley Skinner, Paul Campbell and Allen Brown.

There will be a town team: W W Wagner, Paul Bucy, Athos Cook, Lester Smith, Clarence and Louis Hurtig, Elbvert and Arthur Annis, Robert Duncan, B Fay Griffith, Otto Hoesli, Don Fairfield, Darrel Garrison, Russell Startton, Clifford Chancy, Phil Wilkins, Gail Devore, Bill Skinner, Jim Thurston, Willard Irvine, Leslie Paramore, Doug Morrison  and Ted Warren.

Arthur Billings is again on the Honor Roll at the University of Kansas.

Mrs Milburn Stone and daughter Shirley, are here from Denver visiting her mother, Mrs Anna Morrison.

Alumni News: 6 members of the class are going on with their school work, 2 in the business world and the other 8 are at home.  Phyllis Barker is working in the Delphos telephone office, Norline Manuel is working for the Delphos Milling company, Richard King is going to high school in Manhattan taking a post graduate course, Clara Jane beach and Arthur Buffington are doing the same, Robert Duncan will attend business college at Wichita, Frances Payne is attending Cottey college at Nevada MO, and Agnes Olds is attending KSC at Manhattan. At home are Nadyne Cook, Magdalena Srna, Edna Pilcher, Vida Stelter, Ardith Long, Clifford Chancy, Frances White, and Felice Rollings.

Hubert and Carl Ablard have a bumper crop of watermelons.

Mr & Mrs Carroll Anderson are the parents of a daughter, Stephanie, born Friday Sept 13th. Mrs Anderson is the former Phyllis Tasker. Grandparents are Mr & Mrs Alfred Tasker, and Mrs Wayne Chambers. Great Grandmother is Amy Copple.

Mr & Mrs Richard Ballou announce the birth of Marilyn Jean, Sept 14th, Mrs Ballou is the former Maxine Hillebrand.

Renda Steinbrock was one year old Sept 16th. She is the daughter of Mr & Mrs Dale Steinbrock.

The grain exhibit at the State Fair was contributed to by local farmers, Harry Hoesli, Hazel Crosson and Joe Jagger. Carl Stauffer and the FFA boys sponsored it and won an award.

Delma Dean Huffman and her young son Kip are moving into the property she purchased from Ed Copple on 6th street.

Cub scout Den 2 met, Bobby Smith was elected assistant denner and Dana Hauck keeper of the buckskin. They made roasters out of coat hangers.


Sept 23 1982


Bill Anderson coached the Delphos Lions. They were defeated by Beloit.

Robert B Barefield, named Ottawa County Chairman; will be in charge of reelection of attorney general Robert T Stephan.

Vern Lars Johnson funeral (1895-1982) was held Tuesday, he was the brother of Simon Johnson.

The Delphos Women's Club, GFWC, is raising funds for Christmas decorations for the City Square. Jan Chancy is treasurer. Eula Nace is president. Carol Adkins gave a quilting demonstration.

Deborah Susan Adams, daughter of Mr & Mrs. Richard D Adams,  married Breck Ken Barr, Aug 8th at Odessa TX.

Doris Anderson took Bill to the Moose in Salina Sept 17th for his birthday.

Ray Hauck attended a meeting of the Central Kansas Library systems. He is a trustee of the Delphos Library.

Lloyd Shiver's birthday was Sept 16th.

The late Frank Kiser family and others donated a memorial for an ice machine for the Delphos Rest Home.
