Golden Anniversary Reception for
Connie Chapman’s 85th birthday was celebrated at the Golden wheel. Her birthday was July 8th.

On July 4th only one flag was displayed on the square and that was the Post Office where it flies every day.

Clark Myers departed this life, July 4th.
Funeral was at the
Mrs Claude Brown and Mrs Mollie Bain were killed in an auto crash. Mrs Brown lived in Meredith and Mrs Bain lived south of Lamar before moving to Miltonvale.
Father Robert Vering was installed at St Pauls Catholic church. The ceremony is a formal act but this ceremony gave away to a touch of humor when the bishop’s letter got caught in a fan and the resulting noise disconcerted the preacher and caused a few snickers.
Ottawa Count Historical Society plans to visit the courthouse instead of the customary program.
Cadet Richard D Rolph, son of Max Rolph is attending summer camp at Ft Riley under the ROTC program.

Samuel Emmitt Siders passed away July 6 1933. His daughter is Stella Leonhart of Delphos.
Fred Van Horn has installed a vulcanizing machine. With the rise of tire prices, it will be profitable to repair old casings with breaks or cuts in them.
A surprise announcement was made of the marriage of Jennie
Hurtig and Lester Smith on July 9th, 1932, which was kept a secret
for over a year. Jennie is the daughter of Anna Hurtig and has made her home in
Delphos all her life, graduating from
Former Delphos boys, Leonard and Raymond Conde drowned at Evergreen Colorado. They were operating a lunch stand in the canyon and the rain came sending down a wall of water said to be 18 feet high.
45 new auto registrations were sold last Saturday and Monday making a total of 2398 autos and 388 trucks in the county.
3 wedding licenses were issued last week, Henry Francis Meiller, Jr and Florence May Behrendt, both of Minneapolis; Winfor B Black and Loulabel Gebhart, both of Salina; Johnathon M Stanley of Minneapolis and Wilma Gray of Culver. John and Wilma were married by the judge.

The front of the Larzalere café has been painted green and presents a very nice improvement.

Delphos enjoyed a sane Fourth. With the exception of a few firecrackers it was just like any other Saturday.
The city is going after threshing machine men who run their engines over the street crossings without planking. Two have already paid fines.
