The marriage of George Donald Billings and Miss Ruth Swanson took place Saturday evening at the Episcopal church in Minneapolis. George is the oldest son of HD Billings. They took a wedding trip to Colorado.

Mrs Erva Kleiner was hostess to the Jolly Circle. The club quilt which will be exhibited at the fair was finished at the meeting.

Friendly Neighbors club met with Mrs Virgil McKain. They tied a comforter for the hostess.

Mrs John R Nelson and Mrs Rolla Karns gave a birthday dinner honoring John R Nelson and Roger Karns.

Class of 1931 news: Douglas Morrison is working for the Concordia Ice Company; Otto Hoesli is working for the K-T Oil Corp; Joe Haggart is working as a shoeshiner in the Morrison barber shop; Alvin Somers works on Saturdays at the Concordia Creamery; Barbara Bucy is employed at the First National Bank; Robert Marchbank is operating the picture machines at the City Auditorium; Vera DuPont works at the telephone office; Mabel Marler is teaching at the Bernard school; Uda Teed is attending Kansas Wesleyan University, where she is taking a music course; Athos Cook married Ethel Hurtig of the class of 1927 and is living east of Delphos; Esther Pilcher works in the telephone exchange in Salina; The remainder of the class is at home: Robert Bucy, Howard Cain, Clara Kline, Catherine Morrison, Louis Hurtig and Ted Warren.

The Henry Steinbrock family was called to Salina, where Mrs Steinbrock's mother, Mrs Lou McGee is critically ill.

Judy Clark, the 5 year old daughter of Mr & Mrs Bill Clark, is probably one of the youngest hair stylists on record. She gave her little sister Jana a short, short haircut.

Pearl Chancy is another resident adding to the appearance of our city with improvements to his property. He has added siding to the house and is in the process of adding some to his shop which is on the south side of the square. A number of buildings need a face lifting.

The PTA program included Mrs Frank White giving devotions; a piano solo by Pamela Paramore; an accordion solo by Dana Ray Hauck; and a piano solo by Lavonna Krone.

Ed Riley, died Saturday evening in his home in Delphos. He was 73. He operated a grocery store in Delphos for a few years, selling it in 1955.

The Jolly Circle Club met with Erva Kleiner . Present were Vi Larson, Neva Keener, Eva Davis, Colene Halderson, Grace Rice, Berneice Rice, Charlotte Keener, Meryle Willars, and Ollie Righter.

Mr & Mrs Grant Kiser and Bob, Mr & Mrs Vern Carver, and Mr & Mrs Irl Eppler, spent Sunday with Mr & Mrs Ed Kiser, helping him celebrate his birthday. In the afternoon the group enjoyed slides sent home by Pfc Eddie Kiser.

Frank B Steinbrock passed away Sunday in Minneapolis. He was born Mar 4 1884 on a farm southwest of Delphos. He was buried at the Delphos cemetery.

Mr & Mrs Durel Johnson and sons have moved to Delphos from a farm near Miltonvalle and are occupying the property of the late Elizabeth M Haley.

Mr & Mrs Richard Haley and Donald were Sunday dinner guests of Mr & Mrs John A Nelson, JB & Barry.

Blanche Lynch, 80, will be buried Thursday at Delphos Cemetery. She was born Sept 28 1901 on a farm near Delphos. Her husband Ernest died Apr 9 1977.

Georgia Mae (Antene) Majors 81, of Seabring, died Sept 1.

Bernice A Bartley, 73, of Miltonvale, died Sept 24th. He was a farmer and a lifelong Ottawa county resident.

Pilcher family reunion was held Sept 25-26 at the Concordia Armory.

Mr & Mrs Marvin P Alderson were surprised on their 42nd anniversary, Sept 26th.

Mr & Mrs John Nace were Saturday night guests of Mr & Mrs Paul Breen. The occasion was John's birthday Sept 25th.

Mr & Mrs Harold Doering, Mr & Mrs Rod Ponton, Mr & Mrs Rick Merry, and Mr & Mrs Harry Lee Ponton were guests of Mr & Mrs David Doering, Minneapolis, Saturday night. The occasion was in observance of Scott's third birthday and the David Doerings sixth wedding anniversary, Sept 25th.

Mr & Mrs Jerry Johnson spent a few days in Denver visiting his brother and wife, Mr & Mrs Lewis Johnson. While there Jerry and Janie celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary Sept 19th.
