Dear Shawl Friends,

"Lord, let this coming year be my gift to you! Take everything I have, and use it to build your kingdom on this earth!" Amen (The word Among Us, Jan. 2007)

We hope that you had a joyous Holiday season filled with love and memories to last a lifetime.

Sunday marks the Epiphany of the Lord and I find it timely to have just finished reading a book entitled the "Three Wise Women", by Christin Ditchfield. She uses three completely different women at different ages and different life stages. MARY is single. ELIZABETH is married and ANNA is a widow. They each had a special gift to bring to the Lord, much like the Three Wise Men. MARY's gift was a WILLING heart--"Here am I, the servant of the Lord; let it be with me according to your word." --Luke 1:38 ELIZABETH's gift was a HEARING heart--"Blessed is she who has believed that what the Lord has said to her will be accomplished!" --Luke 1:45 ANNA's gift was a faithful heart--"...she never left the temple but worshiped there with fasting and prayer night and day. At that moment she came and began to praise God and to speak about the child to all who were looking for the redemption of Jerusalem." --Luke 1:38

These women remind us of the Seton shawl group. We are many ages and at different stages of our lives. Yet we come together with our willing, hearing and faithful hearts to help others in various stages of their own lives. It's been said that faithfulness in a little thing becomes a great thing. Your work in this ministry is a gift that demonstrates that beauty of your faithful, willing and devoted hearts. May you someday stand before the Lord and hear Him say: "Well done good and faithful servant you have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your Master." --Matthew 25:23

Come join us for some fun fellowship as we work together to help bring comfort to others through the work of these beautiful shawls. Our next meeting is Tuesday, January 9, in the Seton Faith Formation Building, room 108 from 7 to 9 p.m.

Happy New Year and may God continue to bless you for the work that you do in the Shawl Ministry.

"For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them" --Ephesians 2:10

Blessings, Tish and Kathy
